It is not only our pleasure to offer these treasure for the public to enjoy, it is our responsibility to maintain and enhance the grounds and building. Oakland Aviation Museum is housed in the historic Boeing School of Aeronautics, founded in 1929.
Our major attraction is the Short Solent, "The Flying Boat". It is one of only 5 Mark IIIs built and one of the last two remaining in the world today.
The OAM Laying a New Foundation aims to update two specific areas on the museum grounds. Our goal is to bring new life through upgraded landscaping and walkways at the museum entrance and the Short Solent Aircraft Display.
